Dick’s Sporting Goods is the official retail sponsors of Major League Baseball. They offer everything from team specific gear from hats to player jerseys.

The Problem

In the midst of MLB season, Dick's Sporting Goods wanted to be a part of the conversation around America's favorite past time.

The Solution

Our team saw the opportunity to use engaging, creative social media content to catapult DSG into becoming a Major League Baseball conversation host. We created real-time social content pieces to highlight significant moments that happened during the season like league records and all-star lineups. We also created unique, interactive social games that helped spark engagement with the Dick's Sporting Goods social brand and that gave them opportunities for ‘surprise and delight’ (aka giveaways). This included content like screenshot games tailored to the MLB Home Run Derby, reminding fans that DSG was watching the event along with them. Give it a shot and let us know how you do! For the post season, our goal was to show DSG's presence and attention towards the fans in each city of the remaining contending teams. Wrapping up the season, we designed custom Snapchat filters tailored to the World Series’ teams, the Astros & Dodgers along with some real-time graphics for the champions.

Using social media as an open debate platform, we produced thought provoking MLB scenario Facebook posts to get fans to communicate with DSG Facebook profile. The DSG Facebook posts we created received over 25K engagements, 14K of which were comments. The Twitter posts we created garnered over 400 likes, retweets, and comments.
